Volunteering as a team is a great way to give back to your community and bond together as a group.
Recently, the Alliance Insurance Group team had a volunteer day with Project C.U.R.E. Project C.U.R.E. is a non-profit organization that was created in Colorado in 1987 and has since become the world’s largest distributor of donated medical supplies, equipment, and services to doctors, nurses, and patients under their care in over 135 countries.
They focus on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, Ebola, and COVID19 in resource-limited countries. They also provide aid to the victims of natural disasters and other societal crises.
When we first arrived at Project C.U.R.E, we were given a tour of the facility. There were aisles and aisles of donated medical equipment stacked from the floor, almost to the ceiling. Things like hospital beds, dental exam chairs, all sorts of medical machinery, and your standard medical office supplies.
During this volunteer event, we helped sort & pack medical supplies, stock inventory, and load containers for Project C.U.R.E. We had the guidance from Nancy and Lynn to help us gauge what items would be beneficial to donate, as well as what items are not needed.
All of the items that Alliance Insurance Group packaged are then resorted by the Project C.U.R.E. team. They sort items based on what is requested by specific countries, and then ship the designated items to the country.
If you or your team is interested in volunteering with Project C.U.R.E, you can find all information here. We truly feel that volunteering within the community is a great way to give back!
