Often referred to as “slip and fall” insurance, general liability coverage protects the business from suits that result from someone being injured on their property. The business doesn’t even have to be at fault in order to incur expenses. There will always be costs associated with defending the business from lawsuits. Take the case of the woman who slips and falls while running across a restaurant parking lot in the rain. Is that the restaurant’s negligence or just her lack of common sense? Either way, the business still must retain a lawyer to address her suit.
